I started drinking Athletic Greens as part of my health journey. A couple of years ago, I realized I needed to make some serious changes to my diet, which consisted mainly of carbs and not many vegetables. I started a moderate keto diet, consuming more fats and proteins. However, my vegetable intake was still low, mainly because I don’t like veggies. That is when I found Athletic Greens.
The green powder is made from 75 quality ingredients and it supports five areas of your health – nervous system and immune system, digestion and gut health, energy production and storage, hormone and neural, and healthy aging. Athletic Greens is paleo, vegan and keto friendly.
Athletic Greens is perfect because it tastes delicious and I get my daily serving of vegetables. I feel energized after drinking them and they have made a huge impact in my daily life. I like to mix my Athletic Greens with Bulletproof Fat Water, to get even more of a boost. If you like vegetables, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try this. Athletic Greens are a great addition to any balanced diet.
I was introduced to All Birds over a year ago and they are now my go-to shoes. They are simple, comfortable and look great with casual or nicer outfits.
The company is a Certified B Corporation, which means they “meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.” The company is also environmentally conscious. The shoelaces are made from recycled plastic bottles and the packaging is made from 90 percent recycled cardboard.
My favorite All Birds are the Men’s Wool Runners, made from merino wool. I can wear these shoes through long 10 hour days and my feet feel great. While wool shoes may sound warm, these are breathable, temperature regulating and moisture-wicking. And another plus, they fit my feet.
Bulletproof Fat Water
While I was transitioning into a moderate keto diet, I found Bulletproof Fat Water. It is pure deionized water mixed with Brain Octane Oil, B vitamins to support energy and natural sweeteners. Brain Octane Oil is made from caprylic acid triglycerides from coconut oil. Caprylic acid, a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) is a quality fat that increases energy and fat burning and decreases cravings. The Brain Octane Oil in Fat Water gives fast energy from fat versus added sugars.
Fat Water was a perfect addition as I worked on my health. It is keto-friendly and it keeps me hydrated. I like to mix Bulletproof Fat Water with Athletic Greens for an added boost and I usually drink it after my morning workout.
These are my favorite socks and you may be thinking, “Okay John. It is just a pair of socks. How awesome can they be?” These socks comfortable and soft, they support my arch and the seam that runs across the toes is unnoticeable. Bombas are made with antimicrobial and moisture-wicking high-quality, natural fibers. And that’s not even the best thing about Bombas.
The company started based on a simple statistic—“socks are the #1 most requested clothing item at homeless shelters.” The company is based off the idea of a sock donation, which means every pair of socks purchased, a pair is donated to someone in need. The socks that are donated are not that same as the ones being sold either. Bombas engineered a sock that meets the needs of the homeless population, with an anti-microbial treatment so they don’t need to be washed as often, reinforced seams and darker colors.
So, while Bombas socks are comfortable they are also helping others.
I have used an Oakley backpack for years. It is a great size and can hold everything I need. I have used it for work, travel or just going to the gym. The backpack has a side access panel to fit 17 inch laptops, a front pocket with accessory organization, water bottle side pocket and a special pocket for shoes. It is heavy duty, with mesh-lined shoulder straps.
I love this backpack because it is indestructible and, trust me, I’ve put it through a lot. The hidden pockets hold everything I need. I always carry a change of clothes, from workout clothes and shoes to a pair of scrubs for my shift at the ED.
I love books, I love reading and learning about new ideas, topics and history. However, I don’t always have time to sit and read. Audible offers the best of both worlds. It is a platform with a large selection of audiobooks. I listen to Audible books while I am driving, running or working out.
Listening to audiobooks is a part of my quest for life-long learning. With every book I listen to, I am immersed in a new world and new way of thinking.
